Strategic Participatory Planning
Based on a vision of good governance that includes citizens engagement in the local government planning and budgeting process, LGSP works with local and national governments to mainstreaming citizen and stakeholders input in establishing development and resources allocation priorities through community outreach and public consultation, such as the Musrenbang (multi-stakeholder consultative forum for regional development planning at the district level) and the Forum SKPD (multi-stakeholder consultative forum within district government sectoral agencies, such as health and education). By increasing citizen and stakeholder participation, local governments are supporting more transparent and accountable planning process and are better informed to design and implement local development plans that are responsive to community needs.
