Finance and Budgeting
LGSP’s assistance in budgeting, accounting, and financial management provides local governments with the technical skills to develop performance-based budgeting that reflect community priorities, implement timely and accurate financial and performance reporting systems, and improve the stewardship of public assets. LGSP’s assistance provides information and training on the entire fiscal accounting cycle for local governments, from properly recording financial transactions reporting final fiscal year-end accountability, and helps local governments transparently and responsibly meet their financial cycle/process obligations, manage public assets, and build sustainable revenue streams. Responding to specific requests for assistance, LGSP also helps local governments understand and implement new regulations that support fiscal decentralization, and supports their internal auditor in building systems to monitor and evaluate financial performance.
